Dr Singh has been my psychiatrist since February 2010. I see him at the Outpatient clinic in the Stein Centre @ St Cath’s hospital in Birkenhead. Currently we meet every x6 weeks for a 30 minute appointment which is always early a.m Thursday.
The Week Before
- I start to get quite stressed

- How best to maximise the time I’ve got with him?
- What do I want his feedback about?
- What do I need his advice about?
Actual Appointment
- review of last x6 weeks = recent / current triggers and stressors
- my website work / new live section published / his & team Kath feedback
- What’s going well ?
- What am I struggling with ?
- Bipolar Balance Checklist
- What positive changes am I trying / making ?
- Medication review
- Write his key thoughts in my notebook
- Leave with next appointment card date
Afterwards
- have more clarity
- feel I said everything I wanted to
- feel properly understood & supported
- know what to work on
- have a website / family reconnect plan
- he writes a clinic letter to my GP Liz
- his secretary Helen sends me a copy of the clinic letter
- My head buzzes as I process what we talked about
- I get lots of ideas & feel very wired
- I am exhausted & need x3 days Friday / Saturday / Sunday rest & recover time
The Fortnight After
- feel fresh & ready to go again
- work on the next website section
- get family / friends & golf reconnect plans underway
- iphone text feedback to friends & family
- get golfing with Jackie again
