  • Head of year 8 split site
  • Gp teaching sick note stress & depression / December 2000 / after poor School Ofsted & new Head teacher
  • increasing work stress & inability to cope with pressure / stepped down from Head of Year management responsibilities
  • Head of Alternative Curriculum year 10 & 11 pupils = photography & powerpoint vision

The Sad Decline

  • manic psychosis episode / voluntary admission to Clatterbridge Hospital psychiatric ward x5 weeks July – August / return to school September/
  • unable to cope / GP signed off stress & depression
  • referred to LEA Occupational Therapy = phased return with no responsibility & reduced teaching timetable
  • Excellent Ofsted report
  • Not awarded Threshold £ payment due to poor attendance record
  • severe clinical depression / long term x 6 month sick leave
  • ill health early retirement 2004 aged 47 years after x25 years service
  • severe depression / suicidal thoughts
  • diagnosed bipolar 2008
